Thank you for your interest in our in-class workshop program!
The Writing Center offers 25 workshops on a wide variety of writing, reading, research, interpretation, and analysis skills, which can be delivered in your classroom by an experienced, professional Writing Center consultant. A flyer with workshop descriptions can be downloaded here, and the lesson plans and materials for all workshops are available here. All members of the faculty are invited to request up to two in-class workshops each semester.
To ensure the success of the workshops, and to accommodate the high volume of in-class workshop requests the Writing Center receives, we require that participating faculty:
- request in-class workshops at least two weeks prior to the desired workshop date(s), whenever possible.
- meet with the consultant assigned to teach your workshop at least one week in advance of the class session. In this meeting, the consultant can learn more about your course, and you can collaborate to ensure the workshop meets your students’ needs.
- be present for the entirety of the workshop when it is delivered.
To request an in-class workshop, please review the workshop descriptions and lesson plans linked above, then use the form below to submit a request. We’ll respond to you as soon as possible to discuss your needs, and to schedule your in-class workshop(s) and your pre-workshop consultation(s). Please note that during peak times in the semester, it may take us a little longer to respond to your request. Also, while we do our best to fulfill all requests, we cannot guarantee workshop availability for your class, particularly if your course meets outside of regular Writing Center hours (M-Th 9-8, F 9-3, Sa 10-4).
Requesting your in-class workshop with as much advance notice as possible, and providing us with flexible pre-meeting times will help us accommodate your request.
