In-Class Workshops

The Writing Center’s professional consultants are available to facilitate 75-minute lessons covering a wide variety of writing, reading, research, interpretation, and analysis skills. All members of the faculty are invited to request up to two in-class workshops each semester. To make a request, please read the instructions below and complete the form.

  • Download a flyer with all 21 workshop descriptions here.
  • View lesson plans and materials for all workshops here.

To ensure the success of the workshops, and to accommodate the high volume of requests, we require that participating faculty:

  • request in-class workshops at least two weeks prior to the desired workshop date(s), whenever possible.
  • be present for the entirety of the workshop when it is delivered

Please review the workshop descriptions and lesson plans linked above, then use the form below to submit a request. Please note that, during peak times in the semester (at the beginning, for example), it may take us a little longer to respond to your request. While we do our best to fulfill all requests, we cannot guarantee workshop availability, particularly if your class meets outside of regular Writing Center hours (Monday-Thursday 9-8, Friday 9-3, & Saturday 10-4). If you submit your request with advance notice and provide multiple dates, though, we’ll likely find coverage.

If you have questions about which workshop would best suit your students’ needs, please contact Diana Hamilton, the center’s Director.
